
Jessica Michelle Chastain was born on March 24 1977. She is an American actress, producer and model. Her most famous work is her part in films that have female-centric themes. She has won a variety of awards such as an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine named her one of the top 100 influential people around the globe in 2012. Chastain began acting as a child. In 1998 she made her professional debut on stage in the role of Shakespeare's Juliet. After attending acting classes at Juilliard School, she was offered a talent contract with John Wells. She was regular guest stars in a number of TV shows as well as starring in several stage productions. Chastain's debut film was Jolene (2008) at 31 years old. In 2011, Chastain achieved her breakthrough by releasing six films which included The Tree of Life (2011), Take Shelter (2011) and The Tree of Life (2012). Chastain was also considered for Academy Award nominations as a part of The Help (2011), in which she played an aspirational socialite. Then she appeared in Zero Dark Thirty (2012) as a CIA analyst. The science-fiction films Interstellar (2014), The Martian (2015) and It Chapter Two (2018) were commercially more successful. Chastain was also praised for her portrayal of strong-willed women, including in the dramas A Most Violent Years (2014), Miss Sloane (2016) and Molly's Game (2017). She also appeared in the television miniseries Scenes from a Marriage (1921). After portraying Tammy Faye Bakker, she won the Academy Award for Best Actress and Tammy Wynette in The Eyes of Tammy Faye (21), respectively. Chastain is the creator of the production company Freckle Films, which was established to encourage diversity in film, and is an investor in the soccer team Angel City FC. She has a strong voice on gender equality, mental illness and racial equity. Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo is her husband.
