Selena Gomez
Selena Marie Gomez was born on July 22 22, 1992, in Grand Prairie, Texas,[1] to Ricardo Joel Gomez and Texas-born[2] former stage actress Mandy Teefey. The name she was given is Selena Quintanilla after the Tejano artist who died in 1996. [4][5] Her father is of Mexican origin, and her mother, who was adopted, has Italian heritage. Her maternal grandparents emigrated to Texas in the 1970s from Monterrey. [9] Of her heritage, Gomez has said she is "a proud third-generation American-Mexican"[10] and "My family does have quinceaneras, and we go to the communion church. "We follow all the rules of Catholic but do not follow many traditions, other than attending the park on Sundays and having barbecues." Gomez, who was fluently bilingual in Spanish as early as 7 onwards, is quoted as saying: "[11] Gomez had an excellent understanding of Spanish when she was seven. The parents separated when she was five years old, and she remained with her mom. Gomez's siblings younger than her are Gracie Elliot Teefey and Marcus Gomez. They were born to Mandy Teefey and Brian Teefey. Gomez graduated from high school earned through the homeschooling process. Her mother was barely 16 when she was born. 17 years ago, the family was in issues with their finances through the course of her life, her mother struggling to provide for the pair. Gomez is able to recall at one time that her family needed to hunt for quarters in order to purchase gasoline for their car. Later, her mother recalled that they would walk to their dollar store for spaghetti. Gomez said [18] "I felt disappointed because my parents didn't live in a relationship and never saw the bright light where my mom was trying to build a better future for me." The person I could have been if I had stayed in Texas is a thing I'm scared of. "[19] She later added that her mother "was extremely supportive of me. I was 16 and it had been a significant burden. Gomez gave everything up to help me. She had three jobs and supported me and gave up her own life for me." Gomez was close to her grandparents as a young girl and participated in several pageants. She has stated that her parents "raised" her till she was successful in the world of showbusiness.
